Hello all, I'm new round here so I hope I am following the correct procedure.

I'm new to Affinity Photo and loving it ...

My question is how do I find the exact centre of an image?

I've tried searching, using various search terms but nothing has come up.

As I've been using Affinity Photo I've found that some of the techniques I've used in the Programme-That-Can't-Be-Named don't reproduce exactly in Affinity Photo.  That is only to be expected and I've found a new way of doing things.  I wrote an action to find the exact centre in PS, but I'm not sure if there is a quick and easy way of doing it in Affinity Photo.

I know that I can draw two lines corner to corner, or use the guides.

Is there a better way?

Pat

Welcome to the Serif Affinity Forums, Pat. :)

If you have 'snapping' turned on with one of the Page Layouts presets selected, the Pen Tool and the Shape Tools will give you red (horizontal) and green (vertical) dynamic guides as you mouse over the centre of the image.

show rotation centre lets you see the centre

I think the rotation centre marker is only visible when the Move Tool is active. And since it can be moved, it doesn't always mark the centre of the image (although you can double-click it to reset it, of course).
