Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to outline something with the polygon tool.  I have gotten as far as getting the shape that I want and the flashing lines but I cannot figure out how to make the line permanent on the image and change the color.  Help?

If you mean the polygon selection tool, that is what it is supposed to do. You have made a selection, as indicated by the flashing ants. If you want to draw a polygon, you need to either use the pen tool (P) or draw one of the predefined shapes using the shape tool.

If you use the pen tool, once you have selected the tool, select the polygon option on the context menu.

This is the polygon tool in the shapes tools. You can select how many sides your polygon has if you use this tool..

Once you have drawn your polygon (either method) on the context menu you can select line thickness, colours, fill types etc.
