JDGwf
Is there a tool or method to add noise or geometry to a path for jagged edges for coastlines, etc for map making? Thanks!
Staff MEB Posted January 28, 2015 Staff Share Posted January 28, 2015 Hello JDGwf, Welcome to Affinity Forums. No, there isn't a Roughen Tool yet. It was already requested a couple times, but that's all i know about it at this point. There's a roadmap that lists some of the tools/features being worked on (the ones in blue are coming next). It should give you a better idea of what to expect from AD in the coming months. A Roughen Tool would certainly make a lot of people happy (me included) :) GRScott 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

JDGwf
Absolutely. I'm making a map for my novel and I wanted to liven it up by having a more realistic coastline and wanted to "roughen up" the shapes of the land masses:
ronniemcbride
You could add a mask to the large land masses and then erase the edges with a rough brush. It will be a non destructive way of creating some irregularity to the your art. Does that make sense? Quote LEARN AFFINITY DESIGNER TODAY. JDGwf
That makes sense! Now I just have to wrap my head about it using the (new for me) application :)
