SVG import error

Recommended Posts

Affinity Designer can´t import svg files generated by Blender freestyle. See attached file. Other graphics programs and Chrome open it.

It looks like the file has an ascii encoding specified in it's header but appears to be generated as utf-8 file. This I suspect is an error in the blender script. Other apps may be ignoring or using a different mechanism to obtain the encoding. If you're doing a single image then it's fairly straightforward to modify the svg file and replace the 'ascii' specification with 'utf-8' and then the file will load.

The problem is still there in 2020. :(

I presume you mean the problem that Blender is building its output file incorrectly. Has anyone talked to them about that?

run into the same issue - strange thing is evere other soft seems to open the "ascii svg", tried gimp, inkscape, krita, FF, Chrome, Opera, Edge, IE

so maybe it would be a cool idea to implement a workaround into Designer?

i found this thread on devtalk, dont know if has been reported as bug
