sweetrevenge
Is there an easy way to export the mask as a black and white image? Thank you
Staff MEB Posted July 4, 2017 Staff Share Posted July 4, 2017 Hi sweetrevenge, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Select the mask in the Layers panel clicking on its thumbnail then go to the Channels panel right-click the respective mask channel (usually called Mask Alpha if you haven't change it's name in the Layers panel otherwise it will have the name you gave it) and select Create Greyscale Layer. You may have to drag it out of the image layer in the Layers Panel if the original mask was nested to the image layer). You can then export this layer to whatever format you want going to File ▸ Export (don't forget to change the Area dropdown to Selection with background). sweetrevenge 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference

sanoy
@meb, is this possible to do in iPad version?
Staff MEB Posted July 4, 2017 Staff Share Posted July 4, 2017 Hi sanoy, Yes, you can also do it on Photo for iPad. Create your mask as usual, make sure its selected in the Layers Studio, then tap the Channels Studio, tap the three dots in front of the respective mask channel and select Create Greyscale Layer. cdaerr
Hi MEB, I was able to do this only in Photo. In Designer I couldn't find the Channels Panel (Studio). Is there a way to do this in Designer? Can I also Import a Mask from a greyscale picture? Thanks.
