Affinity Photo Customer Beta - 1.6.0.74

Recommended Posts

I don't know if this is a known bug (or not a bug at all) but the texture control in live lighting still affects all lights rather than just the selected one.

AP, AD & APub user, running Win10

I cannot reproduce this behaviour. Clipped areas of highlight as well as their borders do not show any pink halo or pink artefacts / pixels.

The halos are green for me. They show up on clipped whites working on a TIFF.  Tested using ProPhoto and AdobeRGB TIFFs.

Two anomalies I have observed...

1/ RAWS load faster, but there is a white strip down each one on the LHS. Wasn't present in the previous Beta.

2/ Zoom ratio remains constant, despite zooming in to 100%, or any ratio in between. Example is zoomed into 100% but displays 12.1%

Dave,

Do you see the white strip at 100% too?

The white strip it's always been present for me, throughout all the versions I used so far, but it depends on the zoom. At 100% view, it's gone.

Quite right, at 100% it disappears

I believe this occurs due to document to screen colour conversion - so it will depend on what your document and monitor colour profiles are (as well as the contents as your document).

I'm getting what looks like highlight clipping alert (light blue) fill which I've never had before in .afphoto document (photo persona). Have tried several other ICC profiles other than my usual one and have a profiled monitor. Just looks like I need to know how to switch the alert off?

On my system highlights clipped area are in pink. Someone said he sees it in green, and on yours it's blue.... I couldn't explain why... But here is what I did. As I have a color profile created with my Datacolor Sypder5, it's my system display default, I changed the default sRGB... color profile to this profile in "Preferences - Colors", turned on "Convert opened files to working space" and it fixed it for me. But this has never been a problem in the 1.5.2.69 version.

  1. Still no lens correction for Sony DSC-RX100M5, despite getting it added to Lensfun in March, as directed.
  2. Still incredibly slow adjustments that update the screen in big rectangles which look harshly distracting.
  3. Sony ARW load time decreased from around 7.2 seconds in release to 4.3 seconds in beta.
  4. Develop persona button labels "Develop" and "Cancel" now correctly display.

I bought Photo and Designer for Windows. I also bought the iOS version, despite not having an iPad. I rarely use them, and mostly did it to help fund development. But the total cost would probably only pay for maybe 1 hour of developer time, and it looks like it'll be a long wait before the software is acceptable. Maybe I'll try it on macOS or iOS instead.

The colour conversion problem has now been fixed, and I'm building a new beta that I hope to get out today, assuming no problems.

That's great news Mark, much appreciated!

@AlainP thanks for the info. I did try changing to sRGB in AP not in OS doh!
