Not Layering/Masking Appropriately [Solved]

Recommended Posts

UPDATE: Resolved

Definitely my fault, layered it wrong, in the layering sequence system.

ORIGINAL POST:

Hello community,

I'm using iPad Affinity Photo

I'm brand new to this photo editing. Never used adobe photoshop or any other photo editor - the most I've done is annotating on photos and cropping. Be mindful of this when speaking to me and using jargon that only a experienced would know. Approach me like a five year old child - if that's too much for you, you may not want to contribute to this thread.

My problem:

In the attached image, I am trying to make the picture with the brick top, part of the picture in the background (blend it in seamless) unfortunately, the white background is refusing to leave? Highly frustrating.

I've checked out some YouTube channels and even the excellent tutorials provided in the app itself, somehow, someway I'm missing something here.

Can someone help me please. Thank you.

Can you please send me a copy of the .afphoto file as shown in the screen shot so I can investigate how the mask was created.

Sure, How do I do that? I'm using iPad Affinity app.

Thank you.

Hi Affinity iPad Student,

Tap the document icon on the top of the interface and select Save A Copy, to save a copy of the file in .afphoto format (our native file format) to the iCloud Drive or other cloud service you might be using. Then attach that file to your post or create a share link if the file is too big to attach here (max. 20 MB). Here's a small clip about how to attach images/files to a post. You may have to zip the file first to be able to attach it to a post (some file formats are not supported).

However, there should be no problem attaching a *.afphoto file as long as its size doesn't exceed the 20 MB limit. ^_^

I really appreciate you "literally" taking time out of your day to do that for me - THANK YOU!!

However, can you please show me what I did wrong with either annotations or an existing guide - to this exact problem? Therefore, I'll know what I'm doing in the future.

Thank you again guys, you've all been hero with the help.
