Applegirl1
I signed up & used the Afginity Designer Free Trial & created an important project to test it out. I thought I would have access to my project when I bought the full Designer. Now I don't see it! Is it lost? Is there no connection between projects in Trial & Paid??? Nooooooooooi! Staff MEB Posted June 26, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 26, 2017 Hi Applegirl1, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) No, you haven't lost it assuming you have saved the file. Do you remember to which folder have you saved the file? If not, do a search for .afdesign on your system to discover where you saved it. R C-R
Hi Applegirl1 & welcome to the forums! I am guessing from your forum name that you might be using a Mac. If so, you can create a "smart folder" that will show all your Affinity Designer files, wherever they might be on your Mac. (A smart folder is just a saved search, not a real folder.) To do this: 1. Open any Finder window & press CMD+F to enter Finder's search mode. 2. Don't type anything in the search box at the top of the window. Instead, in the first popup that says "Kind" select the last item ("Other...") & then locate & select "File Extension" from the list. 3. In the Find window, in the text box following "File extension is" type "afdesign" without the quotes or a leading period. 4. You should now see a list of all your Affinity Designer documents. Yay! :) 5. To make this really useful, click the Save button at the top of the window, name the smart folder something descriptive like "All my AD files," choose a location to save it to (the default is fine), & -- most importantly, make sure the "Add to Sidebar" option is checked. 6. Now, whenever you want to see all your Affinity Designer documents in one Finder window, just click on the Finder sidebar item with the name you gave to this smart folder. gdenby 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V23.0 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.
