Alex_M
I've got a Curves adjustment layer with a mask. I want to boost the contrast of its mask. How do I do that? In Photoshop it's pretty simple - I click on the mask, then Image => Adjustments => Brightness/Contrast. What about Photo? R C-R
I am not sure if this would do what you want, but instead of trying to apply a Brightness & Contrast adjustment layer to a Curves adjustment layer, in the Curves adjustment dialog, have you tried switching to LAB mode & changing the endpoint(s) of the Lightness channel? By dragging the endpoints horizontally toward the center, I can get anything from a very subtle to a super extreme contrast effect. dmstraker 1 Quote All 3 1.10.8, & all 3 V2.4.1 Mac apps; 2020 iMac 27"; 3.8GHz i7, Radeon Pro 5700, 32GB RAM; macOS 10.15.7 Affinity Photo 1.10.8; Affinity Designer 1.108; & all 3 V2 apps for iPad; 6th Generation iPad 32 GB; Apple Pencil; iPadOS 15.

You could probably write a whole book on using Curves and the various shapes you can throw. I've been playing of late with the black-end uptick + small darks decrease + greater highlights increase. Alex_M
This might help: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/22377-can-you-edit-layer-masks-like-a-normal-layer/ Thanks, so I can just use Curves and adjust the curve in the Alpha dropdown. That's all well and good but there are still some issues: 1. How do I see the result of the Curves that I applied to the mask? I mean, when I isolate the mask with ALT+CLICK to check how it looks, I still see the mask without Curves applied to it. This makes it impossible to see how the colors of the mask changed. 2. After I'm happy with the curves correction to the mask, how do I collapse the mask and curves into a single mask layer?
