nucleardirk
hey! as this is kind of "new" to me to work with defined cmyk values. so any help is appreciate: I had a defined background colour with the cmyk values: c: 50 m: 30 y: 30 k: 100 using the fogra 39 profile - I export into a psd file. when my collegue opens the file with his computer (we tried photoshop as well as affinity), the cmyk values differs: when using affinity designer the problem appears in the same way when exporting e.g. into a PDF. any ideas? MikeW
Really? How are you checking the color values? This is Acrobat.
nucleardirk
A friend checked with "PitStop Pro" and told me the values. Also he showed me a comparison between his file with those values and mine. His black was more black than mine. I just try to learn working with grafics while he is a pro user - but he uses photoshop instead and renting creative cloud etc makes no sense for me. So in the end I believe him saying the values or not as set before exporting.
mac_heibu
Please attach (a) an affinity file with only one object using these colour values and (b ) the PDF you created from this file.
Alfred
Please attach (a) an affinity file with only one object using these colour values and ( B) the PDF you created from this file. Don't you just hate the way the forum software usually turns "b)" or "B)" into a B) smiley‽ Quote Alfred Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for Windows • Windows 10 Home/Pro Affinity Designer/Photo/Publisher 2 for iPad • iPadOS 17.4.1 (iPad 7th gen)
mac_heibu
Oh yes! Don’t love it. I „corrected" the post! Thank you!
MikeW
A friend checked with "PitStop Pro"... So in the end I believe him saying the values or not as set before exporting. I have no doubt your file wasn't the same color values as you stated in your opening post. The two most common errors are starting a document that is not set up properly to begin with and exporting with a different icc profile than a properly set up file. Either way a profile to profile conversion occurs. So try this. Create a new document. Make it a print document. CMYK/8 FOGRA39 Draw a rectangle and with it still selected, double click on the fill color proxy (the solid circle in the color panel). Using the CMYK value input boxes, type in your values of 50,30,30,100 and either tab out of the K field or press enter. Now click on file. Click on Export. Select the PDF tab if it is not selected. From the drop-down at the top, choose PDF/X-4. Without doing anything else, export the pdf. Now have your friend check that pdf. Save this file with no changes. If the pdf is still not correct, please upload both the AD file and the PDF. anon1
