selecting elements by a same option - is something like that in the designer?

Recommended Posts

Hi there!

I'm really newby in here. Just trying the AD in the trial version right now, but i'm really interrested in buying it. Now I found some issue that really made me a little confused... Is there really no option to select few curves, elements which are filled in the same color? Like it is in for example in Adobe Illustrator. Or "copy properties from..." - like it's in CorelDRAW? Maybe I just can't find anything similar? Could someone give a hand about it?

Thanks in advance and I will be appreciate ;)

You can set Global colours, which are like styles.

That way you can apply the Global colour to as many objects as you like and later, change everything that uses that colour in one go.

That may not be what you want though.

After choosing 'Copy' from the Edit menu, you can select another object (or multiple objects) and then go back to the Edit menu and choose 'Paste Style'. You can also add new styles to the Styles panel.

"Styles" which are a mix of fills and strokes can be applied to multiple object, or created out of a selected object. Abject may be copied, and their effects setting can be pasted onto other objects. One can also change the transparency of any selected object at once.

Hi DJSign,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Currently it's not yet possible to select objects by their attributes. We do intend to add this later in a future update.

Thank You :)

Only You understood what I meant asking my question. I know about general colors issue, styles etc. but the clue is how to change colors in many elements which are not filled by "general color" - for example in projects imported from another software platforms (like *.ai files or *.eps exported from cdr). I'm asking about it because I trully think about moving with my work from other pointed in my posts platforms to Affinity, and that's really important thing (selecting objects by properties) for me. I hope the future update You write about with that most important issue is really near ;). Thank You once again :) And all other repliers too of course :)
