Shovelhead
I'm new here so please bare with me. Been shooting dslr for years now and started with Corel then switched to Lightroom. I recently picked up an iPad Pro with hopes of finding a photo software program for it. This would allow me to work on processing and not be stuck down in the basement with my current setup. I purchased Affinity after some research and so far I am very impressed with it. So next I picked up the Pencil which seemed much better than using a finger. So far I cannot use the pencil with Affinity. I looked through the forum and saw others had issues also. So what am I doing wrong? I've tried the tapping as others and nothing happens. The pen works in notes so I don't think it's defective. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Rick
Staff DWright Posted June 21, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 21, 2017 Is your pencil paired with your iPad as I have tested the pencil in Affinity Photo running on a iPad pro and it works with no problems
Shovelhead
When I check the Bluetooth it shows it is connected. The pencil work with notes on the iPad Pro, just not Affinity.
Staff MEB Posted June 21, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 21, 2017 Hi Rick, That's weird. The Pencil should become available system wide when connected. I know this may not solve the issue but have you tried to disconnect/remove it (Forget This Device) from the Bluetooth settings and pair it again? Does it still display the same issue? Shovelhead
I will give that a try and let you know. In the meantime I may download a drawing app from Apple that is made to work with the pencil and see if it works with it. Can I delete Affinity from my iPad and reload it or do I lose it for good? I purchased it through Apple apps.
Staff MEB Posted June 21, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 21, 2017 You can delete and reinstall it again from the App Store without issues, but you may lost the files saved to the Welcome Screen unless you save a copy of them to iCloud Drive or other cloud service. PhotoNewbie
Silly question, I know. But have you made sure your pencil battery is charged enough?

Shovelhead
There are no foolish questions on forums, especially for someone new. Yes the pencil had a 100% charge when I was using it. PhotoNewbie
