jmcbade
Is there a way to select color values with hex and save them to a pallet?
Staff stokerg Posted June 14, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 14, 2017 You can only use the colour picker tool at the moment to select a colour, but what's been picked can be added and stored in a Swatch on the Swatches panel
jmcbade
Ok. Yeah it seems this is missing with the other versions also. A very rude entry requirement that makes for a very difficult process to use photo for things that we need to use a particular color scheme for from an outside source. While I applaud and appreciate all the hard work on Photo, this seems like an odd ability to not support from the get go. exploremoar
Sorry to bring up an old thread but I agree, I cant see how this hasn’t been implemented in two years
Paul Mudditt
You can do this in decimal so long as you know how to convert a hex number to decimal and store it in your personal swatch as shown here. Instead of being able to enter #ABC6E4 as a single string, you have to convert #AB to 171, convert #C6 to 198 and convert #E4 to 228, and then enter each of the three decimal values separately. BTW, Paul, to make the calculator pop up you don’t need to target the number as shown in your second screenshot. You can tap anywhere in the area where you’ve written ‘TAP’, or you can tap on the slider track itself. Thanks Alfred, just got so used to getting the numerical pop up by tapping the number on other screens hadn’t tried anything else. I guess this numerical pop up window implementation which is used elsewhere is the reason it’s in decimal to remove the need for a special pop up hexadecimal keypad just for this one application when program resources are tight. That’s a fair point, but even just a hex display option would allow us to get there by sliding the sliders. 1 hour ago, Angelos58 said: I found very usefull the RGB app for iPad or iPhone Which particular one? I found that one for myself a couple of hours ago: uncluttered, free, and no in-app purchases. I don’t mind that it’s ad-supported, especially since I haven’t seen any advertisements so far! DM1
Alfred, I use an app called AdGuard Pro. It sets up a local VPN that shunts ad.requests to a null address. Works with in app ads so I don't see ads anywhere. Well worth a look. Angelos58 and Alfred 1 1 Quote M1 IPad Air 10.9/256GB lpadOS 17.1.1 Apple Pencil (2nd gen).
