Schildgroethe
Hey everyone! First off all I would like to thank you for this great app! Finally there's a nice solution to working on raw images while I'm on vacation. -The app still crashes every now and then on my iPad Pro 9.7, but I am fairly certain that it will be getting more stable in the future. However, one of the first things I do when developing raw images is the automatic lens correction. And while I've found out that this is an option on the Mac or Windows versions of AP I cannot find any further information on this feature for the iPad version. Am I missing something here? Thanks for your help!
Staff MEB Posted June 12, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 12, 2017 Hi Schildgroethe, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Affinity Photo for iPad relies on iOS system level support - Apple (Core Image RAW) - to import and apply automatic lens corrections to the images so it depends on Apple's RAW updates to support additional cameras and lenses. You can however use the Lens Studio in Photo for iPad to apply manual lens corrections. Affinity Photo for Mac also has an additional RAW engine you can choose in Develop Persona thought the Development Assistant called Serif Labs (our own engine). It relies on Lensfun database info to apply automatic lens corrections to images (which you can disable if you want in Develop Assistant as well - menu View ▸ Assistant Manager...). Is there any plan to introduce Serif labs engine to iPadOS version of photo? I love the app on my iPad Pro but struggle with exactly this point of lens correction.
