JFisher Posted June 10, 2017 Share Posted June 10, 2017 Hi sisa5 Welcome to the forums :) Affinity Designer can only access the PDF stream included in AI files, which doesn't contain the file layer structure. But if I export ai File with layers I don't see them in AD? Whats an Illy file? MikeW Posted June 11, 2017 Share Posted June 11, 2017 AD cannot open the native AI file. So its layers mean nothing to AD. I believe the pdf portion of an AI file that is embedded in an AI file is a single layer and that is what AD actually is opening when importing or opening an AI file...and that is assuming a particular AI file is saved with the PDF portion. Illy = Illustrator. So if a pdf is saved from Illustrator with layers, then those layers and their contents are available in AD. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
