Hi Rui

The Release Compound command shouldn't be dimmed. Are you sure you haven't performed a regular boolean operation by mistake? Is it identified as Compound in the Layers panel?

Anyway what you want to do is to break the resulting compound geometry and not release it (otherwise you will get the two original objects you started with). To do this go to Layer -> Geometry and select Divide.

There's a bug in the new beta (1.0.21844) - already logged - that's preventing the access to the Layer -> Geometry -> Divide command for objects composed by multiple parts. So you will not be able to do what you want with the latest beta (but it does work with the MAS version).

If it isn't identified as a compound object in the Layers panel, then it's probably because you have performed a regular destructive boolean operation by mistake or have converted it to curves. So there's nothing to release. That's why the Release Compound command appears dimmed for you.

Yes, the format has changed but Andy has warned about this in the release notes.

Regarding the bug, it was already fixed but not yet included in the latest beta (1.0.21861).

Well, I fixed it by exporting just the relevant element as a PDF and opening it in the MAS version, performing the Divide and exporting as a PDF to the beta.

I could not even Copy/Paste from the beta to the MAS version but the export solution worked fine.
