PoloSpace
Hello Affinity Team, Is there a way to preview the cursor/brush size while painting or brushing? I understand the iPad doesn't have hover support but at least while brushing, I hope to see the boundaries of the brush. Thank you so much! Staff stokerg Posted June 8, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 8, 2017 Hello Affinity Team, Is there a way to preview the cursor/brush size while painting or brushing? Thank you so much! Hi PoloSpace, There isn't at the moment. The only preview is when you 1st set the size of the brush. I'll move this over to the Feature Requests Section as it may be something that can be added in the future. taliesinian@gmail.com, Bullfrog, me.razan and 5 others 4
PoloSpace
Okay, Thank you. I really hope it gets added. It's kinda hard to liquefy if you can't see the edge of the brush. :) taliesinian@gmail.com, Bullfrog, Julian W and 2 others 4
Wileantz
Yup, this is a major problem, we totally need an update where we can see a live view of the brush circle when brushing, inpainting and all of that. Honestly, I love that I can finally do proper retouching and editing on the go but the brush cursor not being visible during painting is the only issue I see so far. It's a bit frustrating not being able to properly see to control the boundaries that you want to paint, heal, dodge, burn etc within, if you know what I mean. Please, please fix this. Warm regards and thanks for a fantastic app!! Taluyaq, Bullfrog, taliesinian@gmail.com and 8 others 10
kaeckisthename
There definitely needs to be an option to show the brush cursor. Right now it's like a guessing game for doing detailed brush work, like masking fine areas with hair...etc. I guess I'll still be using PS CS6 for the majority of my work for now. GREAT APP SO FAR!!!! Taluyaq, Bullfrog, taliesinian@gmail.com and 5 others 7
Tibas
I think is very important to see the brush, please make this fix, I like very much affinity photo for iPad , procreate have brush and see the model of the brush, sorry for my English I try my best kaeckisthename, taliesinian@gmail.com, Markio and 6 others 8
davemacdo
I completely agree. Working at different zoom levels and on differently sized images, it's really hard to figure out how big my brush is going to be. This is particularly useful since I'm using Apple Pencil, and I can really clearly see the point I'm touching. robertochaves
Maybe a way to solve this would be to have the option to hold down say three fingers one the screen, which would mean that when you touch the surface with the pencil it would only show a preview (as hoover is not something support on the iPad). So anywhere press down for example three fingers and while you hold them the pencil will just show a preview brush size where it touches. Then release to paint work as normal. Another one would be to have a preview button on some corner toolbar that would allow to be pressed to enable this in the same way as the three finger gesture (being able to configure this would be the best!) hudaman2k
Please add this feature! Masking is really difficult without it. JGKK, kaeckisthename, KoBu and 1 other 3
kaeckisthename
This app is a waste of money with no brush cursor, now that Procreate has layer masks I will probably rarely use Affinity Photo. I actually haven’t for over 2 weeks. Julia04 and taliesinian@gmail.com
RIO XL
Please add this feature in a future update, even if it's defaulted off, allow us to toggle it on in the preferences. JGKK and KoBu 1

DM1
I think if there was a poll taken on most desirable new feature, this request would be at the top.
