Arceus
So far the app is a slam dunk, but I've noticed issues when trying to use/manipulate the control points with the pen tool. It seems as if there is no way to reset the starting point or manipulate the control points without accessing node first. One way to alleviate the curve reset issue (I've seen this in apps like Skribl and Graphic) you tap the main point to bring the control back to it. As for manipulating the points I think it just needs to be added in where we can also grab the points while in pen Tool. It's almost perfect though and I love that the feature to use the area outlined with pen tool as a select tool. Once these are sorted out, I'll be more excited to use this app primarily for building catalogs.
Staff MEB Posted June 8, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 8, 2017 Hi Arceus, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) If you tap the Pen Tool once, then tap it again it should open a popover where you can access the Node Tool. This is the tool you should use to manipulate node's handles. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Arceus
Thanks for replying. What about resetting the curve/node so I can make straight lines again after making a round area (instead of two lines coming off of the node it's usually just one when you're able to make straight lines or even certain curves)? I hope I don't seem too picky. I do love this app and my graphic design teacher swearing by Affinity is what made me get the software for PC also (saved my butt from having to pay for Adobe subs) but this iPad app is by far my favorite way to go about it. Haven't had much time with it yet so still learning basics as well. I attached a pic to show the lines I'm talking about.
Staff MEB Posted June 9, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 9, 2017 Hi Arceus, Currently that's not possible in the iOS version, only in the desktop versions. That type of control will be introduced/refined for Affinity Designer for iPad and then eventually ported back to Photo for iOS.
