JDW
I watched the Apple WWDC keynote and found AP for iPad amazing. Nothing else on iOS compares! While watching your video tutorials today, I paid close attention to object removal. Please jump to 1:57 in the following tutorial video: Notice how the woman is nicely removed but the left-corner edge of that L-shaped gutter has vanished and looks very wrong. In Photoshop there is a Clone Stamp Tool that helps one to manually fix things like that (restoring content beneath a removed object). Is there an equivalent Clone Stamp Tool in Affinity Photo for iPad? INPAINTING is very easy to use and is a good tool in many situations but not all. In the specific case of removing that woman, a clone stamp tool used by hand would make the removal nearly undetectable and allow you to retain the content shown between her arms. Thank you. toltec
I don't have an iPad, but on the picture on the website, the clone tool (rubber stamp) is the fifth tool from the bottom. Unless Serif have done something weird. Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
Staff MEB Posted June 7, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 7, 2017 Hi JDW, You can apply the Inpainting non-destructively to a new layer rather than changing the original, making it easy to clone back details/retouch parts that may look wrong. To do this you have to create a new pixel layer above the original image and change the Inpainting Brush Tool source setting in the context toolbar to Current Layer & Below. The "inpainted" data will be placed in the new pixel layer. This applies both to the macOS and iOS versions. toltec
That's good because I am thinking of buying one and AP will be my first purchase. Couldn't live without the clone tool, honestly :) Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
