iPad Affinity Photo Portrait Orientation?

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I found this pretty dissapointing.

I hate using my iPad in landscape mode, weight doesn’t sit right, it makes switching between apps extra annoying, and obviously it makes editing portrait photos less than ideal.

I understand this sort of thing in games, but for an App like this? Honestly I don’t think it should be allowed by the store.

There will be improvements to the interface in the next updates. Stay tuned.

Glad to learn that Portrait mode is coming.  I run Photo on an AirPad 2 and even if the tools and panels didn't rotate, it would be great to be able to work in portrait orientation on certain images rather than the constant scrolling and zooming that I do now.

Yup, been playing with the portrait mode in the beta and while it wasn't something I was specifically after at this time, I really appreciate the benefit when working on a portrait image without the need for as much pan and zoom. Working very well here.

I have Affinity 1.6.7 for iPad and using on iPad Pro 10.5" but it will only open photographs taken on iphonex in portrait aspect upside down and I am unable to rotate them to edit. Is there any way to worl with these photos, really annoying. They are being imported onto the workscreen, but either upside down or sideways and there is no way I can remedy it that I am aware of, big problem.

To rotate an image, in the Photo persona, click the second icon at the top left (Sheet of paper with corner turned over and 3 dots inside) and select orientation > rotate.

Thanks for that, it does the rotate but now the photo is back to front, the writing is going the wrong way, is there any way to flip it?

The Rotate commands don’t flip anything, so you must have accidentally invoked ‘Flip Horizontal’ or ‘Flip Vertical’. Go back to the Orientation options on the Document menu and flip the document again.
