tofergy
I am new to AD. I have been using DrawPlus for some time. I need to create a circular border design within a donut. I can find no forum or info that addresses "border or borders". I need something like an X with a top and bottom. I need this for a circular logo. Thanks
gdenby
Can you attach a quick image of what you are trying to do? My guess is that you might be able to get what you want by using a text path, and filling it with x's Quote iMac 27" Retina, c. 2015: OS X 10.11.5: 3.3 GHz I c-5: 32 Gb, AMD Radeon R9 M290 2048 Mb iPad 12.9" Retina, iOS 10, 512 Gb, Apple pencil Huion WH1409 tablet
tofergy
Yes, that would probably work. However, I don't know how to do that. Two circles like a donut with an x inside the two circles would be perfect. Thanks, I'll look forward to hearing more.
Staff MEB Posted June 8, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 8, 2017 Hi tofergy, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Draw a circle in the middle of the other two circles, then select the Artistic Text Tool and mouse over that circle - the cursor will change to a "T" with a small wave below - click and start typing to fill it with the X's. You will have to adjust the small red triangle position on the right (assuming you place the mouse and start writing on the top left of the circle) and move it until it overlaps the other red triangle where you started typing. Use the Tracking field in the Character panel to control the space between the X's so you can fit the last X correctly in the remaining space. tofergy
Using the text path worked. However, never got it working well in Affinity. Did it all in DrawPlus X8. Thanks for the help. I got the work done so when I have time I'll try to get it working in Affinity.
