Sandravo Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Hi, I'm an analogue photographer, so one of the first steps in my work process is inverting the negatives I scanned. I can see an invert tab in adjustments panel, though nothing to click, or at least nothing happening. (Same for OCIO and select colors tab). Any help would be appreciated. Quote
Staff MEB Posted June 6, 2017 Staff Posted June 6, 2017 Hi Snadravo, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) What you are seeing is the presets for each type of adjustment. Currently Invert doesn't have any so nothing shows up below (in the thumbnails area). So, click the Invert button (or whatever category is displaying there now), select Adjustments from the popup that will appear on the left to display all main adjustments categories in the thumbnails list and select the Invert thumbnail from the thumbnail list. Sandravo Posted June 6, 2017 Author Posted June 6, 2017 Thanks for the reply, but I'm still getting nowhere... Nothing pops up anywhere when I hit invert. Sorry if I am missing the obvious, but if you have more hints, I would appreciate it. Quote
apixel Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 I'm going to tag along on this thread and ask how to invert a mask? I often select the easiest object, and then usually invert the mask to work with it. I can't find a way to do this with the IOS app. Hi Snadravo, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) What you are seeing is the presets for each type of adjustment. Staff MEB Posted June 6, 2017 Staff Posted June 6, 2017 Hi apixel, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) To invert a mask, go to the Channels Studio (on the left of the interface - the "sliders" icon), tap the ellipsis icon in the respective layer mask and select Invert. apixel 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Sandravo Posted June 6, 2017 Author Posted June 6, 2017 Any more help on the negative problem? Just need to do a complete color invert to flip my negs to positives. But even after your comment I am not getting anywhere. I can't click invert, nothing happens and no pop up menus are showing. :/ Quote
Staff MEB Posted June 6, 2017 Staff Posted June 6, 2017 Hi Sandravo, Sorry the delay. I was looking for a solution to record the iPad screen so i can show you how this works and got sidetracked. Please check the screenshot below for instructions. Let me know if you still have trouble. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
anon1 Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 You can use QuickTime player on mac to record the screen of the iPad (in case you die not find out already) In iOS11 there is also a built in command to do it locally Cheers Quote
Sandravo Posted June 6, 2017 Author Posted June 6, 2017 Sorry, didn't mean to rush you. Thought you had missed it in between the other poster. Thank you for coming back to me. Not sure what the issue is, but it isn't working. I found step 1 and 2 this morning, but nothing happens when I follow these steps. No step 3. Quote
Sandravo Posted June 6, 2017 Author Posted June 6, 2017 To avoid confusion: the photo I am using as an example was already made positive before I opened it in the ipad app. Quote
Staff MEB Posted June 6, 2017 Staff Posted June 6, 2017 Hi MBd, Thanks. I'm aware of the Quick Time way. The issue is selecting from the various options available. Some offers the convenience of Airplay others require a connection between the iPad and the Mac through a cable. I'm trying a few before i settle on one solution. Staff MEB Posted June 6, 2017 Staff Posted June 6, 2017 Hi Sandravo, You can scroll the list of that popover (yes, it's "scrollable"!) you are showing in your screenshot until you reach the word "Adjustments" (not Invert - that comes after you click the "Adjustments" word in that popover). superhaschi 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
