Pen Tool Text Path

Can someone explain or give a link to Affinity how to put text on a path.  I have not been successful in 

trying to put text on a circle or similar shapes.

First method:

• Create your path
• Select the Artistic Text Tool
• Move the curser next to the path
• As soon as it turns into a cursor showing the letter T and a path icon underneath (see screenshot), click and start typing

Second method:

• Create your path
• Choose Layer > Convert to Text Path
• Start typing

(On closer examination, I am under the impression that “all-terrian” is just a new variant of cycling. A quick internet search brought up these results … hmm … ;))

I only have affinity  photo and tried to use the pen tool on a path.  I don't think it can be done in affinity photo yet????
