NedraCG
In Affinity Photo how do I draw a red line across the photo? Or any color other than black? The jpg is actually a book page and one line needs to be underlined. Thank you.
Staff MEB Posted June 3, 2017 Staff Share Posted June 3, 2017 Hi NedraCG, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) You can use the Pen Tool to draw straight lines. Select it from the left toolbar (5th icon counting from the bottom), change the Mode in the context toolbar (right above the work area) to Polygon or Line (the two last icons) then click on the canvas to set the start and end point of the line. You can set its colour in the Stroke colour well and its width in the stroke width dropdown all in the context toolbar as well. Line mode lets you draw independent line segments, so after you click the end point of the first line Affinity will start a new independent line. Polygon mode lets you draw several (connected) line segments (still a single line), so when you click the third time on the canvas you add a third node defining the second segment of the line and so on. PixelPest
Just in case you´re on macOS: Preview.app is pretty capable of doing all kinds of annotations along cropping and image optimizing. Cheers P.
mirla
How do I make this line perfectly horizontal? And also without rounded edges if it's a thick line?
toltec
Hold down the shift key when you draw to constrain the line to horizontal, or whatever. Click on the line thickness bar on the context menu, it opens up the dialog box to set the width of the line and for butt cap (square). You have all sorts of control over the end, the join, alignment, mitre etc. Quote Windows PCs. Photo and Designer, latest non-beta versions.
