Cannot add to Selection

Recommended Posts

Hi Joerg,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Are you also pressing the left mouse button while dragging? Do the following: after creating the original selection, press both left and right mouse buttons while you drag another marquee to add to the selection then release the left mouse button first, then the right one.

...thanks for your help! OK, this works, but my fingers do have problems with this action ;-) Wouldn't it be easier to do this by pressing the Control key? Just a suggestion...

Hi JoergB,

Yes, it would and that's how it works on the Mac version, however on Windows we are limited to just three modifier keys (the Mac provides four) so we had to make some adjustments. A couple of them, as this one, have proved to be impractical. We are considering changing/adjusting them but for now that's how they work on Windows.

Thanks to this excellent forum I found this post quickly. Otherwise it would have been frustrating...

Shouldn't the status bar at the bottom reflect the LMB+RMB action?
