stuartknoy
Hi all - just bought Affinity and I am mightily impressed just one thing i work in science and i need, now and then, to scale my results by very precise amounts - e.g. 32.567% i know i can increase or decrease the size of objects , but I want a percentage applied to different sized objects, or groups of objects... am i missing something?? stuart
Staff MEB Posted January 8, 2015 Staff Share Posted January 8, 2015 Hi stuartknoy, Welcome to Affinity Forums. Affinity Designer supports math operations in input fields. So if you want to scale your object a specific amount, just enter *=32.567% (using your example) in the input field. Another one: use something like *=0.5 or *=50% or even /=2 to reduce the size of the object in half. You can also use functions like Sqrt(n). Here's a related topic with more info including more functions. Wiredframe 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
stuartknoy
but where is the input field found?
Staff MEB Posted January 8, 2015 Staff Share Posted January 8, 2015 Check the Transform panel on the bottom right of the interface (assuming you're using the default layout). Otherwise go to View -> Studio -> Transform on the menus. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software

Staff MEB Posted January 8, 2015 Staff Share Posted January 8, 2015 Make sure you're replacing entirely what's there. And don't forget the * (asterisk). If you want to keep the values there just add * 0.5 to multiply by 0.5 for example. Both notations will work.
