assuming you were aware one exists?

Isn't the switching off of the message about the availability of the update discussed here proof that the user "knows" about the new update, but does not want to be repeatedly informed at every start?

@Pšenda

Possibly, or possibly not!  It rather depends, I think, on when the "switching off" actually took place.

I think we need @ellycolor to tell us.  Also perhaps, why he/she has NOT updated.

Long-time user of Serif products, chiefly PagePlus and PhotoPlus, but also WebPlus, CraftArtistProfessional and DrawPlus.  Delighted to be using Affinity Designer, Photo, and now Publisher, version 1 and now version 2.

@ellycolor

Thanks.  But is there a particular reason you are still running an "old" version of the software?

Newer versions don't work properly on my older laptop model.

How specifically do they not work properly?

I ask because there are some known & relatively easy to implement fixes for some problems encountered with the newer versions...

Hi everyone,

For windows the solution was found - one need to set registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Serif\Affinity\Photo\1]
"No Update Check"=dword:00000001

Can also be set via MSI property "NO_UPDATE_CHECK_PROPERTY" by assigning the value of "#1".

But there is no obvious solution for osx...

In the previous message there was an info about "network install tool" but I can't find any information about it...

Is there is any universal solution for Win and Mac to disable update notification availabe in 1.6.x now?

Thanks in advance.

This registry edit does not work on the newest version. First, the path does not exist any more. It seems that the new path is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Affinity\Photo 2. Secondly, what should the registry key name should be? "No Update Check" or No Update Check? Both do not work anyways. Is there a new way how to achieve disabling the update window?

No problem for MSI/EXE installation.

P.S. If anyone is worried that by turning off the constant harassment/notification about the update, they will lose the information that there is an update at all, then just follow this thread:
