kufloyd
Hi, I created this design with the intention of the flower being on top of the leaf and stem so that the part of the leaf and stem that's under the flower doesn't show through, but for some reason it is showing through. Any idea how to fix that? thanks! blossom-test.afdesign
GarryP
The stem shows through the flower because the flower has transparent (and semi-transparent) pixels. Try drawing a black-filled rectangle and putting it below the flower to see what I mean. How you can fix this really depends on what you're going to do with the flower. A quick fix - on this occasion - would be to apply a white fill to the flower "outline" layer but that won't work every time.
kufloyd
Thanks for your reply. it makes sense that it would show through...I had overlooked the fact that this is a pixel layer, not a vector layer. I 'fixed' it by adding more pixels on the part where it was overlapping to hide the leaf as much as possible.
GarryP
You're welcome. It's worth saying that the quick fix I gave was only applicable because the flower was on a white background. In most cases which concern a flower you would need to have some kind of background to the petals - as petals are not transparent - but the colour would need to be applicable to the subject. I.e. The background colour would need to be one of the colours on the petal. You would probably be best to do all of the painting on the pixel layer - as you have - to achieve a more realistic look as colouring the background layer might result in something that looks less natural (it creates a definite "harsh" edge to the petal which might not look right). kufloyd
