buddingphotographer
Is there a bug report already filed for Affinity crashing frequently while scrolling up/down with a mouse-wheel? I crash it several times a day while zooming in/scrolling with the mouse. The issue carries over to Designer as well, I recently downloaded the free trial of Designer, and it crashed with the same error. For God loved the [whole] world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. AlainP
Works perfectly so far. Wacom tablet works very well, and no mouse scrolling problem. -- Window 11 - 32 gb - Intel I7 - 8700 - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 -- iPad Pro 2020 - 12,9 - 256 gb - Apple Pencil 2 -- iPad 9th gen 256 gb - Apple Pencil 1 -- Macbook Air 15"
verysame
Worst experience so far. The new Wacom input really doesn't work for me. Here are the issues: Clicking on the dialog windows (curves, hue/sat or any other parameters, sliders, etc. from any windows, color palette, anything) it always comes with an annoying lag: after pressing the pen, the position of the cursor almost freezes for a moment, then it works. Painting with basic default brushes works as expected, like before. Painting with a custom brush or an ABR is a nightmare as at this point there's no way to change tool, Photo it's stuck on the latest brush selected. I've to kill the process and restart Photo. And I've got a similar issue with an Overlay in Develop Persona. Moving the mouse from the canvas to the GUI freezes the cursor for a short moment as if something is stopping it. I've also updated to the latest Wacom's drivers, 6.3.21-10 with no luck. The Wacom I'm using is the Intuos Pro on Windows 7x64. Specs: Dual Xeon E5-2620 v2 RAM 32gb Nvidia Quadro K4000 SSD Samsung 840 EVO 250GB This beta is definitely not for me. I really hope this is something you guys can figure out in a timely manner as the latest beta was working better than the stable release. Of course, same issues for the new Designer Beta! Any chance you can extend the previous beta? krummenauer
Hi dear, I updated my windows 10 today and I had the error "Unhandled exception - Code 0xC0000005", I reinstalled the affinity photo/designer and the same error continues.

myclay
No problems so far with the re-written Wacom pen input but I can´t point yet the difference between this and the old one. SONB
After a quick test: There is still a tiny lag between the touch and the first movement of my pen, which prevents me from doing short strokes with a brush (PTH-850 Intuos 5 Touch) Assigned Tool isn't getting assigned (tools don't switch when I switch brushes with Assigned Tool activated) If I choose a brush with wet edges and switch to a dry brush (no wet edges) wet edges remains activated SrPx
Dave Quail
Thanks for the new Beta. Well worth the wait for me. AP is far more responsive, starts up quickly and RAWS open in less than half the time it took on the previous Beta. Appreciated! Scott Williams
I get the draw lag on my old Aiptek graphics tablet too. This draw lag does not happen in Paint, Paint.net, Gimp or Photoshop. So the Affinity guys are doing something different for tablets. SrPx

Ken Cope
First thank you for focusing on that problem. I have tested new version. Unfortunately no luck :( attached a file with more info. Yes, I'm finding the same, no real difference to the earlier version's stroke when compared with other software. The larger sized round brush seems to just draw a succession of filled circles with no real initial feedback that the line is continuous and unbroken - with other software there tends to be the visual feedback that the brush stroke is a single object. Halo
Same problems here. 1.) I think there is a problem with the sampling rates of the input devices and threading in general in Affinity Photo. Because (i have reported this months ago) if you use the "Histoy-Tab", the "wobbling" lines will be drawn. If you switch to any other tab (transform, navigator or channels), the issue is greatly reduced. 2.) Also if iam using the denoise filter, the "details" slider does nothing. Dave Quail
I agree with Halo...same problems here. The History "Engine" uses a lot of resources, to the detriment of the responsiveness of AP. Turn off History in Studio helps a lot, but I need History to be turned on as most users do. Details slider on the Denoise filter does nothing for me either. Pollux
Hello,Beta 1.50.2.66 is with me the first beta which I immediately removed again, unfortunately. The work with this is unbearably slow, has extree picture error (picture goes to the edge and is no longer centered) probably a problem with the Nvidia driver) worse still the system freezes, Taskmanager does not start, a hard reset is the only thing which helps.Pollux

HVDB Photography
That is clearly an excellent device. No wonder the performance is more prestigious. However, in PS and with my current PC system, performance was remarkably better than AP. But that's a well known fact. I'll keep waiting for a while for AP to optimize memory management on Windows 10. verysame
It is a good configuration, indeed.
