TheVole Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I'm loving getting started with Affinity Designer. It's an incredible product.A question:How can I convert a bitmap (png) image into a vector graphic. In other words how can I trace a logo displayed as a solid color in a bitmap?I'm sort of doing it using masks but suspect that there is a better way to go.Any help will be gratefully received. Thanks Martin Quote
Staff MEB Posted January 3, 2015 Staff Posted January 3, 2015 Hello TheVole, Welcome to Affinity Forums. If it's a simple logo you can trace it manually using the Pen Tool (and eventually the Shapes Tool). There's some video tutorials on Vimeo that may help you get started: - Pen Power! - Using Shapes in Affinity Designer There's also a great tutorial made by @CartoonMike - The Pumpkin Tutorial - that goes in great detail about how to draw in Affinity Designer. Finally, Affinity Review - our new ezine (ibooks format) - covers the Pen Tool extensively in its first issue, with video tutorials showing how to get the most of it.
