I'm new to design so excuse if this it's a dumb question.

I duplicate a shape with no stroke but the new shape doesn't have the same size. There is some "extra" which I believe it's from the stroke.

Please take a look at the attached file.

Thank you.

Forgot to mention that the problem happens when I draw another shape to subtract from the duplicated one. Sorry for omitting it :(.

Thank  you.

The stroke you are seeing in your file is from the Rectangle if you select it and then navigate to the stroke tab and remove the stroke you should stop seeing this.

Sorry for not explaining myself clearly, but what I want is the fill on the duplicated shape not to overlap the stroke from the bottom rectangle.

My steps:

  • Create a shape with fill and stroke.
  • Duplicate said shape a remove the stroke.
  • Draw another shape on top of the duplicated one to cut it in half.

Result:

  • Bottom shape with fill and stroke.
  • Cutted shape with fill only overlapping the stroke from bottom shape.

Desired result:

  • Bottom shape with fill and stroke.
  • Cutted shape with fill only an respecting the size of the fill from the bottom shape.

Thanks for your time and please excuse my english.

Hi Gaza,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

Just set the alignment of the stroke of the bottom rectangle to outside in the context toolbar, in the stroke width dropdown.

God I'm felling such an idiot now.....

Obrigado.
