lvl99
In Photoshop I can press CMD/ALT + Backspace to fill the current mask selection (or whole layer) with either the background/foreground colour. Currently I haven't been able to find the same in Affinity Designer! Anyone know how I can do this? AbaBuiplelip
Fixx
In AP you can access Fill by Shift-F5, which is admittedly is not as easy to remember and as straightforward as PS command. As AD is more vector oriented it seem not to have such command. You can though use Flood Fill tool (bucket) in pixel persona mode.

I'm sure a moderator would have been happy to move it to this Feature Requests section if it turned out that there was currently no way to achieve the desired result. Somewhat awkward on a Macbook Pro and having to hold down FN too if function keys aren't set by default. I would argue that Affinity Designer supports the Pixel persona, so should still be equally focused on pixel based operations as much as vector. I did try with the flood fill tool, however if there is any existing image data then issues can arise. @Alfred: yes, you are right, however I wasn't sure if it was a supported feature or not, but I guess it still should have gone to the questions area. BatteriesInc
I guess it's worse for people who don't even have function keys anymore. Not a "juge" fan of the strip thing myself as you have to look at it to operate.. Quote Regards, Binc Warning: dark, twisted sense of humour. Do not feed after midnight. Wheat and BS intolerant. lvl99
I guess my point about the shortcut is that it was a shortcut to fill with the primary colour or with the secondary color. I get the fill dialog when holding down FN + SHIFT + F5, but maybe if I could remap each direct fill operation (rather than choose from the prompt) it could be nicer... Staff MEB Posted May 3, 2017 Staff Share Posted May 3, 2017 Hi lvl99, There's no shortcut to fill directly with the primary or secondary colour, only the Edit ▸ Fill... command/dialog but you can change it's shortcut in the Preferences, Keyboard Shortcuts section (set first dropdown to Photo and the second to Edit) to something simpler that doesn't require pressing a function key. lvl99 1 Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
jonathancharles
Affinity Photo: I think at least a few users above are hinting at the idea of having a function to "auto fill" with either the primary or secondary colour. It is a pity to repeatedly have to: navigate a pane, and make choices, when shortcuts do the job twice as quickly. Thanks IE One shortcut for fill primary colour Second shortcut for fill secondary colour 3rd shortcut for open fill window Silvia
