Chris Van Cleve
Here are a couple files I'm working on. One is a drawing of a dwarf I made some 20+ years ago and AD finally let me bring it digital in a satisfactory way. (Been trying for 11 years. 1 hour in AD and I finally had it. Take that Adobe!) The other is my company logo on a lock screen I'm working on. The planet atmosphere isn't where I want it and the space aurora is missing. Pure AD except the startled, which is a stock image. Making all those white circles in AD is an overwhelming notion to me. peter and Mediafuel 2 Quote Journey forth my friend, by body if needs be... retrograde
Two very different pieces! Are you going to colour your dwarf illo? Chris Van Cleve
Once I figure out how to do it correctly, yes I plan to color him in along with the other 40 odd drawings of fantasy characters I need to digitize. peter
Re: DSV pure VHS nostalgia...I can actually here the intro music right now! (Something similar to Tristar or Columbia). Where was AD 25 years ago? AD is sooooo smooth, and I feel privileged to own and be part of it. Re: Breeon, any relation to retrograde :P ? retrograde
You lost me there Peter... Chris, one way may be to leave the dark line on the top most layer and build the colour layers underneath... Chris Van Cleve
LOL No relation there. Dwarf vs Scotsman. Speaking of which, there's Renaissance Faire duo that travels around named the Drunken Scotsmen. They do a golf bit and their logo uses a similar picture to your avatar, retrograde. As for coloring, I figured I would have to leave the current as the top layer. It's the shapes beneath I'm niggling about. Sometimes I can see it, other times I fail miserably. I'll get there though. peter 1 Quote Journey forth my friend, by body if needs be... Chris Van Cleve
Well, it's been almost a year. LOL. I colored in the Dwarf today. Still not as good as I'd like, but it's a start. Life just keeps getting in the way of my fun. peter 1 Quote Journey forth my friend, by body if needs be... retrograde
Looking great Chris, better late than never as the saying goes. :) For the line work, have you considered adjusting the thickness with the line pressure feature. It adds a bunch of life and character to things quickly and easily, see attached... I guess it depends on the style you're after, but I would suggest playing with it. peter and David 2 Quote http://www.kevincreative.com https://www.behance.net/kevincreative https://dribbble.com/kevincreative https://www.instagram.com/kevincreative/
Chris Van Cleve
I haven't played with it yet. I'll do that and see what I can come up with. Chris Van Cleve
Played with the line pressure. Pretty fun stuff. Used a couple profiles. It looks much closer to my original drawing this way. Very cool. Quote Journey forth my friend, by body if needs be... retrograde
Hehe now we're talking. ;) I think it adds a bunch more personality to the piece. It's a bit more work, but I think it's worth it. Nice job!
