Selection color in Affinity Photo

Recommended Posts

Is there a way to change the color of the selection outline in Affinity Photo?  I am editing a very light gray, low contrast image and can barely see the selection.

Hi,

No, AFAIK you can't change the color/brightness of the marching ants, if that's what you mean. If you first make a rough selection, you can 'Refine' the selection with a choice of previews, e.g. an overlay in Red.

Alternatively, you can make a temporary duplicate layer (in Windows: CTRL J) and either invert it or change its brightness/color, make your selection there and then, with the selection still active, select the source layer for doing the actual operation on.

Cheers,

Bart

Hi btschumy,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

As Bart said there's no way to change the colour of the marching ants.

You can try enable Quick Mask mode pressing Q (or clicking on the respective icon in the main toolbar) as see if it helps. It has a few several display modes too: as red overlay, black, white or transparent (click the arrow near the icon on the main toolbar to change them).
