Outstanding vector algorithms. Other programs reshape curves well too, just not Affinity. 😞 Unfortunately Vectorstyler is computer only (Win + macOS) so I cannot use it on my iPad Pro which I have to use often, as my life and career have placed me in airplane seats, transit or between meetings in (un)comfortable armchairs quite often. I try to keep my workflow simple so I don't involve more programs than necessary. But sometimes I need something cleaned up and optimized - a trip through Vectorstyler on the computer and it's absurd how few nodes are left without the shapes having changed. And it only takes a short moment. It gives me the freedom to brainstorm or work quickly on ideas in airplane seats or worse - I get it cleaned and polished to perfection in Vectorstyler. So basically both Vectorstyler and Affinity are not sure to survive in my workflows or shopping list for my entire workflow, but Vectorstyler is a keeper on my desktop computer. Quote 1) You have completely wrecked the layers panel, Serif. 2) I recommend Reddit groups instead of this forum. Not the same few bot-like users replying to everything, a wider representation of users, fewer fanboys, more qualified users. In short, better! 3) I was here to report bugs and submit improvement requests for professional work professionally in a large setup and to bring a lot of knowledge from the world, i.e. professional product development, web- and software development, usability, user experience design and accessibility. I actually know what I am talking about! BUT! We are phasing out Designer and Affinity in 2022 Q1 - and replacing it with feature complete and algorithmically competent alternatives. Publisher is unsuitable for serious use, and was never adopted.

JariH
Hi Adding my vote here too. Simplify/reduce nodes on a curve is one of my top three requests! Please, Affinity. ReinhardK, PT AFD and GRAFKOM
White Hermit
+1 A few years later the newest version of Affinity Designer is still missing this feature. We need it. PT AFD and JariH
Hautemeal
+1 Another one of the "basic" features I'm greatly missing after converting from Illustrator. Smooth curves might work in some cases, but you can't even isolate its use to a few points, which could actually make it a lot more useful. Please, please add this to V2. The current "Smooth curve" tool should have an option to affect only the selected nodes. PT AFD

PT AFD
Just purchased the whole suite and really frustrated at the lack of this basic feature. +1 again please! Its an everyday tool for Illustrator users - yes I should have checked, but thought its such a basic thing that it would be there? PT AFD
I've now gone back to Adobe Illustrator CS6 to do most of my line optimisation work. Such a shame this essential tool is still missing. Wanted to make more of a permanent switch from Adobe products - sadly this one tool absence from Affinity Designer is a real showstopper as far as it's (potential) every day usage here and recommendation to other designers. Bit Disappointed
Let me put it another way, I would like to hear the reasoning for why it has NOT been implemented yet, given how crucial both the functionality and the mathematical level and quality of the algorithm are for serious work. fernand0n, piskota and bures 3 Quote I simply no longer believe that there are any professional graphic designers here. agou
Well I was looking for this feature I used quite a few times with Illustrator. Sadly, it still doesn't exist I often use crappy vectorial datas from GIS softwares with A LOT of useless dots and I simply can't clean it all by hand. This feature would be a life changer for me. Evan D
Let's get that Canva money to use and finally deliver this feature 7 years later! In the time it's taken to implement some of these basic feature requests, Inkscape has actually gotten pretty good. I used to consider it unusable, but I'm moving more and more of my workflow over there, AND IT'S A FREE APP. JariH
bayustudio
In AD 2.5, there's smoothing improvement for pencil tool, which is great. I guess now Affinity has good foundation to implement simplify on existing paths? As a vector app, This essential feature has been surprisingly absent in Affinity Designer for a long time. Hopefully, they will add it soon. chessboard and JariH
PT AFD
Keep having to fire up a 14 year old Mac Pro and Adobe CS6 to deal with simplifying paths. Come on - sort this out for goodness sake! - these are 14 year old tools whooping Affinity's a*** ! And when it comes to replying to recommendations about Affinity, this is a big showstopper.
