Import layers in After Effects from Affinity Designer

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

you've done a great job with the option to export to PSD format from Affinity Photo. Great for After effects animators!!!

Will this similar feature (export to .AI) be possible in the following versions of Affinity Designer? Because After effects only see layers from .ai format.

Or maybe make a script/plugin for after effects, so that he can import native .afdesign file with layers.

Cheers!

Export as an EPS file. Import into AE. Add EPS to a new comp. Run explode shape layers script and you will have one shape layer for each element.

That script is $30, almost the price of Designer alone.

For the time being, a workaround is to use Create Shape from Vector Layer.

The shape layer will have groups, so not too shabby.

Here is a free script that will move the groups to layers if you want..less twirling.  But it's a one-way street.  You can't merge layers to groups.  I know the explode shape layers script is $30, but well worth it for the time that I save.
