jewsus
I have tried exporting with PNG and SVG and when ever I export an image with noise, very little of the noise is maintained. I have attached a screenshot of the picture on the left is the original affinity designer vector and the image on the right is the exported PNG. As you can see there is a noticeable difference in the noise. Could I be doing something wrong or is this an issue with Affinity Designer? Staff MEB Posted April 10, 2017 Staff Share Posted April 10, 2017 Hi jewsus, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Are you comparing both the project on canvas and the exported image at 100% zoom? The noise is being rendered dynamically and its appearance on canvas may change slightly depending on the zoom level. To get an accurate preview of the noise when exported set the zoom level on canvas to 100%. The exported image should look similar in these circumstances, otherwise there may be a bug/issue somewhere. kevinmcsherry
I had the same issue. Would I be right in saying that you have to just visually gauge the amount of noise and hope for the best -maybe output the file a couple of times until it looks right? For example, in the attached pic from AD itself (the 'canvas' -300dpi at A2), I added about 50% noise on each shape and it looked perfect at the size I was working -around 50%. I exported the file and looked at it at 'Actual' size (pic 2), the noise has diminished to a murmur and I think I should have added 100% noise to get the effect I wanted at the print size. rlanggara
Hello. I've been having the same issues. Is there any further findings within this topics? Little bit of background, a lot of my work is intended to be seen digitally, and I rarely print it.

You must view your image at 100% zoom to evaluate how the noise will really appear when you export your image. You will not get an accurate depiction if you have zoomed out (less than 100%). So, zoom to 100% (Ctrl + 1 (Windows) or Cmd +1 (Mac)), apply the noise. That is how it should look when exported and viewed at 100% after exporting.
