Convert drawing/handwriting to graphics

I'm not sure if this question has been asked and answered already and please forgive me for repeating this if any. Is there a way to convert my drawing to graphics like automatically or in similarity. For example, I draw a square and write some words in my own handwriting, the program converts the drawn square to graphic square (chosen shape style) and converts my handwritten words to a font that's the closest to my style. If AD don't have those features, is there any program with those that can work with AD or add to AD to use them?

 

Perhaps this either or both features seem too farfetched? I hope there is at least one if not both features to make it happen (it'd save a lot of time in my opinion).  :)

I think there were some development for this kind on apps for iPad but I guess they were not too successful.

Affinity Designer doesn't yet have an auto-trace feature, which is what you would need for converting things like bitmap (drawn or scanned) squares to vector shapes. Even when that feature is added, you would still need optical character recognition (OCR) to convert your handwriting into text, and I can't imagine this being added to AD in the near future, if at all.

Are you wanting to use things you have already written, or drawn? Or do you just prefer to work that way on a tablet?

 

There are several handwriting recognition apps that do a pretty good job on a demo iPad I tried. Didn't think to see if graphic shapes were converted, altho I've read there are some that will do simple shapes, squares, triangles, etc.

 

It's been years since I tried converting scanned handwriting to text. My recollection was that even as a 2 finger typist, it was faster and more accurate to just type.

 

If you have a Mac, and a graphics tablet, there is a built in handwriting system feature called "Ink." I just tried it w. AD, and it worked OK. Again, not any quicker or easier than just typing.

I've had Affinity Designer since it was first available on Mac, and I've watched people request a bitmap trace feature for literal years. It is astonishing and disappointing to see such a fundamental tool for vector illustration, and it's bigger feature that will only keep Designer from surpassing its rival Adobe Illustrator.

 

If you are looking to trace bitmaps, go check out Inkscape. Provided you can get it to actually install and work (I've had little success) it can trace bitmaps very well as a free and open source vector program.

Yes, tracing is a missing item in AD, i use https://www.vectorizer.iofor some jobs. You could try.
