I set a question regarding a problem with selecting objects along with a file on 14 Dec 2014 at 03:18pm. So far I have not had a response.

Hi jackamus,

I know MattP already replied to you in that thread, but I'd like you to know that I haven't forgotten this issue.

You already provided another file earlier (that was logged at the time) that shows the exact same problem.

Since then I've been trying to replicate it from the scratch, but still haven't been able to. This seems related to a specific set of steps you followed that break something at some point. Until we know how to replicate this (to discover where it breaks), i think it will be hard to fix it.

I believe it's something related with the way you duplicate the rectangles. Somehow the duplicated rectangles seem to retain the coordinates of the originals or something, but as is said I still couldn't get there :(

I will continue to try, meanwhile, if you could detail the process you use to create them it would help us immensely.

Hi MEB,

I have attached another file in which I have replicated the problem.

Using cmd I dragged a copy of 1 over to the grey rectangle and resized using the centre handle to make 1A.

I then used cmd and dragged a copy of 1A to make 1B.

I followed the same procedure with 2 to create 2A and 2B.

Here is the problem; if you click on 1A near the bottom then 1B gets selected but if you click higher up then you do select 1A.

The same thing applies to trying to select 2A

Does this help?
