Affinity Photo: Sticky key for angle constraining lines with paint brush tool

Recommended Posts

It is already possible to make perfect horizontal and vertical lines while drawing/sketching in Affinity Photo, but only with the pixel tool ("Drag+shift' to constrain stroke").

How come this option is not available for the paint brush tool?

In fact, there's even another option that is available only for the pixel tool: "'Drag+command' to erase".

I'm not a programmer, so I don't have the technical insight, but I wonder why these two tools don't share the same options? I have seen people request a constrain function for the paint brush tool a few times on this forum, and I wonder if you plan to add the pixel tool functions to the paint brush tool? It's the only thing that is keeping me from switching from Photoshop at this point (only other thing would be to enable 45 degree diagonally constrained strokes as well)

All in all I really like and appreciate all the work you have done so far. I wish you all the best with your future endeavours :)

Correction: Photoshop can't do diagonal lines either with it's constraint, so I guess I stand corrected on that aspect (I think I conflated Photoshop with Corel Painter)!

I understand if your workload is filled up with other tasks that take precedence, or just don't want to expand on this issue, but I wonder what the rational was behind giving the paint brush and pixel tools different modifier options?
