This is an odd question, but a few weeks ago, I made this pattern (attached). I remember doing power duplicate to create multiple shapes. What I don't remember is how I progressively changed the colors so that it becomes lighter with each duplication. I didn't change the colors individually; it happened automatically with each power duplicate.  Any thoughts on how I might have done this? :) thanks.

You've applied a linear gradient transparency to the parent layer. Go to the Layers panel and click on 'Layer2' to select it, and then choose the Transparency Tool to reveal the gradient control line and node handles.
