Let HSL adjustment work with LAB color

Dan Margulis says that HSL adjustments are much easier to do LAB color.  You already let us do Curves in LAB color space.   How about HSL?  Thanks!

can you give a reference? is this in his canyons book?

 

HSL is by definition Hue-Saturation-Luma whereas LAB is Luma A-B Opponent

The way I read Dan's comment was this: It is easier to get the effect of HSL adjustment using Lab instead.

most certainly both your request is interesting and valid but I still don't get it, sorry.

I mean, you can use LAB already ...
