Jack G
When I go to File, New to create a new file no Background layer (or indeed any layer) appears in the Layers Panel. Hence I cannot select it to do any thing with it. My operating system is Win 10. What am I missing?
Staff MEB Posted March 20, 2017 Staff Share Posted March 20, 2017 Hi Jack G, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) That's by design. When you create a new document from scratch Affinity doesn't create any layer by default. You have to manually create it clicking on the Add Pixel Layer button in the Layers panel. Only when you open an image it turns it into a Background layer. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
Jack G
Many thanks for your rapid response. Being an ex photoshop user sometimes causes a few hiccups in my approach to Photo.
