Nivrams
Is there a clear tutorial dedicated to the workings of the Color Panels. I am trying to make a 2-color vector design using a Pantone uncoated spot color. This design is to used in a Quark XPress 2-color document. The spot color has to agree with Quark's spot color. Designer has no labels on the swatches. The colors for the document has no list of colors used in that document except for a row of "recent" without labels. This is not a problem in 4-color process. It just has to look right and the system will separate it. It is a big problem when a design with spot colors is to be used in another application. The color names HAVE to agree or additional plates will be generated. Is there any way for Designer to generate a list of labeled swatches that will be compatible with page layout applications? I find the new guide book opaque on the subject. I had to go back to Illustrator to be sure I had something workable.
MikeW
Yes, just showing "Global Spot #" is not very helpful, is it? The Pantone color you have chosen does display if when an object is selected one clicks on the Fill in the context property bar. Swatches need a rethink in AD. In any case, I don't know what version of QXP you are using. But as long as you are using the same palette and the same Pantone in each, you should be fine. But you cannot use AD's EPS export as it is a CMYK definition. Use the PDF (For Export) preset and you should be fine. Mike
