Affinity Photo vs Affinity Developer

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased Affinity Photo, but I'm afraid I may have purchased the wrong product.  I'm thinking that I should have bought Affinity Design.

I am a Pastor and needing a product to build and manipulate graphics for our church publications and sermons.

Is there any possibility of switching out products?

pastorbradm,

If you make publications on a regular basis, then both Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer would be useful. When you consider how powerful the programs are and the price, I'd buy them both. Designer isn't a page layout program but you could use it to make simple layouts but you would still be using images in your layouts sometimes and so Photo would be great to have because it is more for manipulating images.

You don't say what software you are using for your publications - Word perhaps?  I produce a weekly 'pew sheet' and a quarterly 24 page magazine for my local church and I find Serif's legacy program 'Page Plus X9' - currently selling for £19.99 from Serif online, to be ideal for this. One reason is that most of my non-photo graphics can be originated within PPX9 itself and I've just switched from Photoshop Elements to the brilliant Affinity Photo now for editing and manipulating pictures.
