rutra
Hi, When I copy images from the web to Affinity Designer 1.5.4 they looks a bit grey. When looking at Document Setup (attached) I see that Type is Print for some reason. When I try to change it to some other format, for example Web, it changes back to Print after I open Document Setup again for some reason. As I'm new to Affinity Designer I'm not sure that it is document type issue. Thank you for your help.
Butler To Cats
Not my area (or platform) of expertise, but try this: Under the Document tab, Colour tab, try changing the Colour Profile to sRGB (and/or maybe to your specific hardware, if listed). R C-R
The colors you see displayed on a web page will depend on several things, & they will not be the same for everyone. Some images are tagged with ICC profiles & some are not. Some browsers honor these profiles if included & some do not. Some do but do not apply the monitor's profile to the image. Most browsers default to sRGB for untagged images but may or may not apply the monitor's profile, or have some obscure setting to control that. Copying an image from a web page complicates things even more, since that will involve the specifics of how the OS & applications pass color management data to & from the clipboard. So basically, you can never assume that the colors on a web page are the same as they would be for a downloaded file properly tagged with a color profile, or even that on a web page they will be the same for different people using different hardware & software. This is a very good reason to avoid copying and pasting! Instead, you should save the image to a file and then place the saved image file in your document.
