Batch processing of HDR photos

Recommended Posts

Hi dear community and support,

I really like the HDR function of Affinity Photo for MAC. But now I need to convert about 40 HDR photos from 120 seperate photos.

It would be very nice if there is a possibility to do this with batch processing...

1) take 3 following photos

2) HDR processing

3) image optimazing

4) save the HDR photo

Could anybody tells me how to do this?

Thanks so much.

Greetings,

Tobias

Hi Tobias,

Welcome to the forums.

You can use the HDR merge feature on the File menu to merge three images into one. If you're applying the same optimizations to each image, you could record a macro to save time. However the macros feature is still being developed and may not currently support all the adjustments you wish to make. You can then choose which format to export your image to.

Create a macro:

  • File > New HDR Merge
  • Select files
  • Uncheck "Tone map HDR image"
  • View > Studio > Macro
  • Click the red circle for "Start recording"
  • Enter "Tone Mapping Persona"
  • Make HDR adjustments
  • Save HDR preset and apply
  • Macro shows "Tone map"
  • Make any other adjustments
  • Click the white circle for "Stop recording"
  • Click the grid with the plus in macro panel for "Add to Library"
  • Name it "HDR test"

Run the macro:

  • File > New HDR Merge
  • Select files
  • Uncheck "Tone map HDR image"
  • Double-click "HDR test"
  • Repeat

I think that's the best you can do today. Hopefully once they add JavaScript it will be possible to open a folder, loop through sequences of images, HDR merge them, apply preset, and export to incremental filename, all without manually doing anything.

WOW, this is really advanced! I have spent hours trying to get my first HDR images to load and successfully create an image. Every time I manage to open 3 images the whole program shuts down. Must be my ancient Mountain Lion OS 10.8.5 therefore probably obsolete/incompatible with software of this caliber!!! Just the reason I moved from MS rubbish
