BobbysCorner
Currently having trouble exporting a compatible 3 x 20 ft banner to the print department at Staples. Not sure exactly what settings are necessary to produce a file that will show up on their computers even for preview purposes. I can see a preview on my mac, but on their PCs the files show up as blank. I've included the file in case it helps anyone to provide an explanation. I assume I have the wrong settings, but am also concerned if the size of the file is causing this problem. I appreciate your help! Staff Lee D Posted February 27, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 27, 2017 Hi BobbysCorner, Welcome to the forum. I believe this is due to a limit on the size a viewable PDF can be displayed in Adobe Reader, which I think is around 200 Inches. You may want to consider scaling down your design, this will allow it to be previewed and they can then scale it up to the required size. Poziomka
Hi As written by Lee D there is a problem with the PDF maximum format which is 200 inches by 200 inches! Even if you export project to pdf, it will be trimmed to 200". The file it looks like empty because acrobat must generate a preview, and for such a file it takes a little bit more then usual. I also suggest to scale the project fe to 50% and attach the note so they scale it up.
MikeW
Well, the pdf specification for length is far beyond any application to create it. The limitations are for Acrobat and Reader to display it. I have produced 400" pdfs from AD. To do so one must export as either Postscript or EPS and use a special profile in Adobe Distiller. The PDF will then both display accurately and image just fine. Fixx
It is quite customary that shops printing large pieces ask PDFs to be made to certain scale. 50% or 25% for example.
