Dear Affinity folks, do add vector fills (or the possibility to create one's own) soon, PLEASE. It's such a must-have for everyone working in cartography. Affinity Designer is such a great piece of software that I enjoy so much using but it still lacks this *important* feature...

Hatching bitmaps definitely are NO solution nor a sensible workaround. Nor are the workarounds suggested above, I'm afraid.

FWIW, whatever the topic posting all these 'please add' & '+1' type comments here in the Questions forum are unlikely to be 1/10 as effective as posting them to the appropriate feature request forum.

+1 vote from me.  This seems like a very basic missing feature.  MacDraw had it decades ago!  Vector vs. raster...I don't know...but it seems Serif is NOT listening to the users of it's programs...thread started in 2014!

A good suggestion for those of us who are on Windows, but unfortunately no use for anyone on OS X or macOS.

+1 - I would really love these hatch fills as just a drop-down option or a font pack we can download. Like the OP, I am doing archaeological drawings, and need some contrasting fills. I am also colourblind so the colour swatches are incredibly difficult for me to navigate without colour titles, and my drawings look ridiculous because I'm forced to use highly contrasting colours

For me the missing of this indeed basic feature is the main reason that I tell people to wait for the switch to affinity Design. For anybody working in Architecture, Urbanism and Landscape architecture firms it is a must have! Bit maps are no sollution and life will become so much easier when this tool is added.

Looks like we won't see hatched fills in AD within the next 5 or 10 years. I don't fear because I won't get them when I'm very old, I do fear because I don't have them right now.

How did you implement the alternatives? I don't know about those assets, can they be used to create patterns that just fill out any shape I throw them into?
