Hi,

I've got an eps image from Shutterstock and trying to use it in Designer. It seems to open it as a very lo-res image file and, whilst I've seen a couple of similar threads, I'm not sure if there is any way of converting the file to be used.

Here is a link to the page the original file is from https://www.shutterstock.com/image-vector/northern-lights-vector-set-abstract-blue-340982204

I've also attached the eps file, if it's any help

Thanks

Pui

Thank you for the reply.

Well I guess the next question, is it possible to make that kind of colour scheme/design in Affinity? i.e. an Aurora Borealis type wave effect. I've attached an image which is what I'm trying to edit/recreate to make it scalable and editable.

I'm just waiting for the Affinity Workbook to be delivered and happy doing a bit of googling and playing around, so if anyone could just give me a pointer as to what the technique/tool to do it is called, it'd be a great help.

I'm a relative noob to this so sorry if it's a very simple question. Started using Affinity just as a means to redesign our very restaurants basic logo and stationary but found it's a very enjoyable and addictive once I got started.

Attached is a very crude example of using a gradient with a lot of color stops to simulate the effect. There are better ways to do this, for example with a bitmap fill.

  • 3 weeks later...

I just spotted this thread, I too have had client purchase a vector EPS image from Shutterstock, but I was unable to import it in any way through Affinity Designer or Photo (just failed to respond). Is there a way? I had to resort back to Adobe Illustrator on my old Mac and even then I was unable to place in Affinity Designer. Ultimately had to save the vector as PSD because as I needed it without background.

Frustrating because I told my client that vector would be I deal for what I was doing for them.
